  • Here at the 10:30 a.m. high mass every Sunday you can experience a beautifully celebrated sung Latin liturgy very much as it has been solemnly celebrated for over 400 years. A spiritual, aesthetic, and historical experience not to be missed. An encounter with god in a setting that helps lift the mind and heart to the contemplation of his presence. A glimpse of heaven.

  • The high masses here are marvelous! Sublime in my opinion. In all my life I never could imagine a large group of people singing in perfect cadence & unison, I just couldn't picture it; until I was presented with the Mass here. I was awed to experience something like that could actually be done. I couldn't help but notice it as I was in my astonishment my attention was drawn to the choir(which was everyone), I had paused to look around to see wondering where they were & if I was dreaming or what not. It almost sounds scary to some folks but realisticaly who wouldn't like Christmas music at its finest. The traditional Masses are awesome, with a hint of sublimity.
I like & appreciate how most people here are setting a good example by dressing modestly for church much like they used to, although some folks may not dress up to standards of Saint Padre Pio but at least they are dressed up, for the most part.
It had been recommended to me that saint Stephens is the place to go for confessions & I'll second that, it's the best place that I know of, there were times I felt weak & hopeless but I recieved encouragement to go forward which gives me newfound respect for this family, even if it isn't my home parish. I hardly ever miss out on the food during fundraisers I like the fact that they are very much into organics here. The gift shop here has allot of interesting literature music & trinklets that women around my circles are fond of. The gift shop also sells organic soap.
I'm a recent convert(former agnostic) under the Novus Ordo Missae the new rite of the Roman Catholic Church so I'm still getting used to the traditional rite that they celebrate here. I just wish I knew Latin.

  • My first Traditional Mass was at St. Stephen's earlier this year, and I fell in love. Everyone is incredibly reverent. The chapel is beautiful and quaint, and to the grounds exude spirituality. The priests are very committed to the parish and their calling.

  • Reverent and beautiful Liturgies that allow one to enter into the prayer of the Church; confessions available 1/2 hour before each Mass to prepare one to receive Jesus more fully in Holy Communion; solid Catholic homilies that help one live the Christian life as Jesus calls us to. From young families to the elderly, a caring, dynamic community. Oh, and they have a lovely book and gift store!

The good: They have numerous masses on Sunday. There is confession on Sunday half hour before mass ( the priests were 25 min late though). The priest prepared his homily and it was good. It felt very solemn. God was at the center. People were very reverent towards him.
What you need to know: Mass is in Latin, They use the Tridentine rite. there is no leaflet to help you understand what's going on. So take precautions. For someone who has never attended one is hard to follow. It seems like they have a dressing code but is not advertised anywhere. They do communion in the mouth only. The priests belong to the fraternity of St. Peter.
My opinion: I am very conservative and more knowledgeable about my faith than the average catholic but at this church I felt like the odd sheep. I did not feel welcome. There was nobody to answer questions or to greet us.
